Our historic Inn, located only minutes from the lively Weirs
Beach area, Meredith and the Gunstock ski area, was attentively
built in 1939 by shipbuilder Byron Hedblom, who brought the Mount
Washington cruise ship to Lake Winnipesaukee.
Mr. Hedblom's fascination with boats and the sea was carried forward
when three working lighthouses were placed on the property. The
welcoming glow from the 15-foot-high lighthouses will guide you
home each night along with the 60-foot-high mast used as a flagpole.
Each guest room is named after a famous New England lighthouse in
keeping with this tradition. The care and attention that went into
building these remarkable structures is reflected today in the care
and attention you will receive as our guests
Our five cozy guest rooms, each with private bath and fireplace, sit on five acres of grassy fields and
forest on a colorful, tree-lined country road that provides a quiet
lodging one block from beautiful Winnipesaukee, the centerpiece
for fun in central New Hampshire, and close to all of the Lakes
Region activities. Click
here for more detail on activities and attractions. Taking
advantage of our linger longer plan, the inn
also can be used as a central base for days trips to the White Mountains 40
minutes away or the seacoast and Maine, 75 minutes away. Or take
advantage of our romantic getaway package. Or book the entire inn at
a discounted rate, perfect for a gathering of friends or family,
biking and hiking groups, scrapbookers and knitters-quilters, or wedding
groups.
The sumptuous country breakfast features fresh-baked pastries and
breads, a mini buffet of cold cereal, yogurt, fresh cut fruit and
juice, coffee and tea, and an individual hot entree such as an egg
souffle, baked french toast topped with sauteed fruit or ginger
blueberry pancakes. Complimentary afternoon tea includes Pat's nationally
acclaimed chocolate chip oatmeal cookies served in the
Great Room.
As your attentive hosts, Pat and Mike are ready to advise you
in your travels around the area or help you choose one of the many
good restaurants 5-15 minutes away, or add any other special individual
touches to make your visit memorable.
